The Election will take place at a Special Chief Pleas to be held on the 31st May 2017.

Application forms will be available from the Greffe Office from the 2nd May 2017 during normal Greffe Office hours.

RETURNING OFFICER

In accordance with the Reform (Sark) Law, 2008 as amended and the Reform (Election of Conseillers) (General Provisions) (Sark) Ordinance, 2008 and with the Reform (General Election) (Sark) Ordinance, 2017 A RERUN GENERAL ELECTION OF FIVE CONSEILLERS SHALL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 5TH APRIL 2017.

The Polling Station shall be at the ISLAND HALL (TOPLIS ROOM) and voting shall take place from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm that day.

PRESCRIBED FORMS OF NOMINATION OF CANDIDATE to stand as a Conseiller are available from the Speaker of Chief Pleas and Sark Greffe’s Offices and shall be completed by two persons and the candidate all of whose names shall be inscribed on the Electoral Register and shall be delivered by hand of one of the persons named on the form to the Speaker of Chief Pleas (Returning Officer) or the Greffier (Deputy Returning Officer), from Friday 10th March 2017 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm and during the same hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays thereafter until Friday 24th March 2017 between 1:00 pm and not later than 2:00 pm on Friday 24th March 2017 after which time no further nominations will be accepted. Forms of Nomination shall not be returned before 1:00 pm on Friday 10th March 2017.

In the event of an equality of votes being given to two or more candidates, and the addition of one more vote to his/her poll would have entitled such candidate to be elected, a further election shall be held in accordance with the above stated Law and Ordinances on Wednesday 19th April 2017; in respect of such candidates only and without further nomination, between the persons who have obtained such equality of votes. The Polling Station shall be at the same place and between the same hours as stated above. For the purposes of the term of office of any successful candidate such further election shall be deemed to have been held on the date of the original election.
